Photos from Inside the Tasting Room
Swiss Privilege private tasting on Monday evening.
It was a full house at this well-attended session, an encore of the successful debut in November last year.
This time round, together with sake expert Mr. Hiroshi Watanabe, brewers Rairaku (來樂), Tsubosaka (壺坂) and Okurahonke (大倉) flew all the way from Japan to Hong Kong to personally present their own sake. Not always the exact same pitch, each brewmaster of the three breweries detailed their personal approach to the various steps required to make their specialty. A few varieties of sake in terms of class and style were introduced, the attendees got to taste for themselves the versatility of sake and its ability to be paired with Japanese food, especially a sashimi plate complete with pickled ginger, wasabi and soy sauce.
