Tenuta di Ghizzano Ratings from Antonio Galloni's Vinous
Veneroso 2012 - 93/100
The 2012 Veneroso wraps around the palate with gorgeous depth and resonance. Today the flavors are naturally quite primary, but there is a lot to like in this Sangiovese / Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend. Dark plum, cherry pit, mint, spice and licorice blossom as this succulent, expressive wine shows off its personality. Sweet floral and spice notes add finesse on the silky, perfumed finish. The 2012 could use more time in bottle to develop further complexity, but it is quite delicious, even today. - Antonio Galloni
Nambrot 2012 - 91/100
The 2012 Nambrot, the estate's Cabernet Sauvignon, is the biggest and richest of these wines. Dark, supple and inviting, the Nambrot offers good depth and overall resonance. Black cherry, herbs, licorice, smoke and incense shape the racy, intense finish.
Il Ghizzano 2013 - 89/100
The 2013 Il Ghizzano is a soft, open-knit wine to enjoy in its youth, while the flavours remain fresh. Crushed flowers, cherries, licorice and menthol open up effortlessly. Hopefully, the gracious, polished Ghizzano is a sign of things to come in the estate's flagship 2013's.
