Chateau Belgrave is a a historical Bordeaux Chateau / hunting pavillon under the reign of Louis XV. The crown and ferret as symbols of the Château, is a tribute to its prestigious history. In 1855, the property became a member of the Union des Grands Crus Classés and as of 1979, it is run by Dourthe. Belgrave is a vineyard bordering the Saint-Julien appellation (next to Ch. Lagrange). And the wine is a blend of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon with the latter as the dominant grape varietal.
The vineyards sits on a single block vineyard of 59ha, and 95% the land is same surface as back in 1855. This is a wine that stands out for its finesse and elegance and fresh (mint) character; a very Saint-Julien style of wine. 12-14 months ageig on fine lees in French oak barrels.
