Introducing The Small Sake Junmai!

INTRODUCING THE SMALL SAKE JUNMAI

Junmai means ‘pure rice’ in Japanese. All the alcohol in the product is the result of a natural fermentation, meaning that no distilled alcohol is added. With only water, rice and koji mould as ingredients, our Junmai can be considered one of the purest beverages in the world. Junmai is an official premium classification, clearly setting the product apart from the common ‘table sake’, which accounts for about 80% of the total sake production. Leaving technicalities aside – most important for us is to make a great product more approachable, less serious. Yes, there are many traditions around sake, but everybody can enjoy it without being an expert. While we respect the way sake is traditionally consumed, we think it is best served chilled in a white wine glass.

TASTING NOTES

The Small Sake Junmai has a light pale silver colour, with a clear yet complex nose. The deliciously crisp palate is well balanced with acidity, leaving space to softness and length. It’s dry and elegant, with an aftertaste showing subtle notes of rice complemented by hints of nuts. Delicate tropical fruit notes, most notably those of banana, mango and passion fruit, characterize the wonderfully bright aroma.
