Francois Voyer Cognac Hors d'Age Grande Champagne, France (700ml)
Agency label
| Grapes: | Ugni Blanc |
| Type: | Cognac |
| Region: | Grande Champagne |
| Alc.: | 43% |
| Composition: Blended eaux-de-vie 40 to 60 years old.
| Ageing / Blending: Distilled with the lees, it ages in new Limousin Oak casks with a medium interior toast for 3 years. The ageing process continues in old barrels in a damp cellar. A progressive reduction is made, with distilled water and by decreasing the alcoholic strength by natural evaporation.
| Color: Dark Amber.
| Bouquet: It is a symphony, a musical score of refined notes: the major ones are coffee, chocolate, wax, leather, cloves and cinnamon, while the minor chords are flowers and dried fruits, truffles, wood berries, pepper and vanilla.
| Taste: After many minutes on the palate, new flavors are still being exposed and unearthed; dark truffles, woodland berries, spicy pepper and warm vanilla. The complexities are beyond imagination and the aftertaste is staggering; so take a trip into the dark and fiery heart of the Grand Champagne.
| How to Enjoy: Pour it and let it stood for a quarter of an hour before you taste it. Sip it slowly and let the bouquet and the flavors unfold and develop on your palate. Taste the passing of the years in the warm cocoon of the ancient oak barrel, and the darkness of the cellar.
